Lose Fat and Gain Muscle - The Constant Struggle

This information on how to lose fat and gain muscle won't be life altering nor is it uncommon knowledge to anyone who has been around the fitness industry for a while.  It's so easy to get caught up in the latest and greatest ideas, products or ideologies that we drift further and further from what should be the foundation of everything we do.

Lose Fat Workout-

Easy right, most of you know that.  You expect me to tell you some super human secret to this whole process but the reality is that you just need to workout to lose fat.  There are workout programs that increase the intensity level of the workouts like P90X or Insanity but the foundation is the same, get off the couch and workout!

Let me talk about intensity for a moment.  More times than not the level of intensity, or focus I bring to my workouts will determine their ultimate success.  A great example would be when you are truly focused in a workout you can achieve great progress.  You lift more and you do more reps but the most important part is that you felt good doing it.  I don't want to forget to mention proper form during a workout.  So many times I see people fudging on form to get more reps but I have noticed more progress doing the correct form not to mention I avoid injury in the process.

Gain Muscle Workout-

I am sure you have heard that to build muscle you need to eat.  I will talk about the food in a moment but I want to give mention to the right workout to gain muscle.  While you are in the gym you need to focus and bring the intensity.  This holds true for fat loss workouts too but even more so for muscle building.  Heck the both require it so rule #1 will be "While in the Gym or Working out, Bring the intensity and Focus."

You need to be lifting heavy weights with long rest periods.  This combined with a high protein and calorie diet will help you develop muscle growth.  Stick to the core workouts, bench press, squat and shoulder press just to name a few.  If you drift away from these lifts you will not get the same results.  Additionally be prepared for long workouts of almost 2 hours because of all the rest you need.  If you want muscle you need rest and heavy weights.

Ok, so I mentioned the traditional and the common now I want to take a minute to say that muscle gaining doesn't always require huge weights.  Proper form, body weight and the right movements will give you the results as well.  I have recently tested a body weight workout program and found that my strength has increased considerably.  I have also notice that it was easier to lose fat and gain muscle. Not quite sure why pull ups, body squats, push ups and some other craziness have produce the results they have but I am liking my progress and have no plans to start lifting weights for anything outside my arms.

Lose Fat and Gain Muscle Diet -

I am not sure I am convinced that the ratio of calories in versus calories burned is the answer for everyone.  I know that if I try that method I am lazy and tired almost all day.  Not sure why but if I eat clean food, high in protein and fiber, I can get some very good results.  I am sure it comes down to body type so do your homework and find out some body type difference and how that will can change the way you workout.  If you want muscle mass you just need this information so go find out how to maximize your muscle mass here.

Lose Fat and Gain Muscle Supplements-

You know I don't think I could even workout without my supplements.  I use several of them just to help me get everything my body needs in order to see the results I want.  I have reviewed several products here at best muscle building supplements.

There are several you should consider right away.  Supplementing protein is an absolute must these days.  I am just not a big fan of stuffing food in my face when a simple protein shake will do the trick for me on going.  The pre-workout formula is my favorite and should be used before every workout.  I mentioned intensity, well this in my trick to increase my intensity and focus throughout my workouts.
